As people have become increasingly aware of the risks posed by disasters, including natural disasters such as the Tokai Earthquake, Nankai Earthquake and Tonankai Earthquake, and "human" disasters such as terrorist attacks, both the hard and soft aspects of disaster preparation have progressed.
The objectives of the "Development of a Center of Excellence for Disaster Nursing in a Ubiquitous Society" research program (the 21st Century COE program at the College of Nursing Art and Science, Hyogo) are to develop mid- to long-term nursing care strategies to regenerate people's health and lives following disasters and to establish information-communication networks.
This program's research results will contribute to the development of a new disaster nursing discipline and support people to develop the resilience needed to regain their health and lives following disasters. We believe that this program will be able to demonstrate innovative strategies for disaster preparedness to the world. We would appreciate your interest and assistance. |
