Check the safety inside your home

An earthquake with an intensity of g5 upperh on the Japanese shindo scale is said to cause heavy furniture such as your chest to topple over and the TV to fall off its stand. Protect your lives and prevent disaster in your home by fixing your furniture and storing things in a safe manner.

Safety Measures

*Do not pile things around the area where the baby sleeps.
*Sleep either at a distance equal to or farther than the height of the furniture, or on either of its sides.
*Fix furniture by using shoring beams between the furniture and the ceiling or by nailing the beams of the furniture to the beams of the wall using L-shaped brackets.
*When stacking furniture, fix upper ones onto lower ones (e.g., by connecting the two at the sides or at the back).
*Store heavy and breakable things in the bottom of your china cabinet/bookshelf.
*Apply shatterproof films on glass panes of the doors on your cabinets.
*Prepare footwear close to where you sleep to prevent injuries from scattered pieces of glass.
