Disaster will happen anywhere, anytime, and everybody. However, to prepare for disaster is very difficult thing to do. In Disaster Nursing, we are accumulating the data related to disaster nursing, and developing the system which will function at the time of disaster. We are reviewing the curriculum for disaster nursing. Along with these activities, we are conducting the research to create systematic body of knowledge of disaster nursing and develop a center of excellence for disaster nursing. We have been designated as one of 21st century COE Program from the Ministry of education, culture, sports, science, and technology; "development of a Center of Excellence for Disaster Nursing in a Ubiquitous Society," We are also submitting the designation to be appointed as a collaborating Center for Nursing Development of WHO to serve the world wide community.

　International Health Community Nursing has been designed to improve the quality of community nursing in developing courtiers under the concept of Primary Health Care (PHC) by WHO and through Japanese health experiences which reached the healthy living in the world. We invite nursing educators and administrators in Japan and conduct a "PHC and nursing" training in collaboration with different organizations in Hyogo such as WHO Kobe Center, provincial hospitals and municipal health centers. After the training, follow up would be carried out with counterpart countries. In the future, we will continue to explore the methodology of developing suitable community nursing in developing countries ( Indonesia, Cambodia, etc.). Moreover, we will try to find the possibility of collaborative research between University in Indonesia and to create distant support system through the use of information technology .

　Town Healthcare Room defines as a place and a function, which offer consultation service to the general public from children to old people in community, who have various health problems such as a pregnancy, child rearing, common ailment, mental health, life style related disease, and elderly care.
　These services are spreading widely in Japan.
The Research Institute of Nursing Care for People and Community, provides education and verification opportunities of a nursing project for nurses who perform such an activity. Through consultation and training opportunities, we hope to influence the quality of care. In the Research Institute, we are also providing the Specialized Town Healthcare Room according to expertise from the faculty of the College of Nursing Art & Science. We hope to develop close relation with community to share our research outcome. We also hope to build healthy community through developing nursing service for community.

　Telenursing for People and Nurses is defined as nursing practices through use of distant communication technology. We will accumulate the data to seek health indicators to create resource for the peoples' health needs. This system is new modes for nurses to intervene even the client are at their home. The nurses and client can communicate whenever needs arise. This system is also seen as a new method of client education. In the research Institute, we will develop the system for nursing care at home through Information Technology (IT), and collaboration with related industries. We will try to make a difference in QOL of the people who are in nursing needs.
