Terms of Reference
Promote the nursing and health research on disaster reduction,
preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery from the disaster
and similar life threatening afflictions in the mid-to long-term;
2 Delineate the roles and competencies of nursing professionals
involved in various phases of disasters: preparedness, mitigation,
response, recovery, and health emergency management;
3 Carry out a leading role in the development of an effective
national, regional and global network system for nursing and
other health professionals involved in the health emergency management;
4 Implement training needs assessments, develop and implement
training programs for the public and professionals involved in
disasters and emergency management situation and their prevention;
5 Influence the governmental agencies and non-governmental organization
to promote nursing leadership in the development of nursing on
disasters and health emergency management. Work
performed in relation to the terms of reference:
For planning the WHO Collaborating Center for Nursing
in Disasters and Health Emergency Management, we have divided
the research among the Centers of Excellency for 21 Century
for the Education/Research Project. “Development of Center
of Excellence for Disaster Nursing in Ubiquitous Society”
In fulfilling these terms of reference, the Collaborating
Center of the University of Hyogo will collaborate with World
Health Organization; especially in Western Pacific Region through
various activities; such as, conducting research requested by
WHO, providing research results and its dissemination through
Information technology, creating channel of communication, providing
opportunities for training of health professionals, and sending
nurse consultants in needing area. |
